The first conversation
What to prepare before discussing a protection requirement, and what to keep out of an initial enquiry.

Start with the purpose
A useful first conversation explains the kind of support needed in ordinary language. Is the question about a person, a business setting or transport? Begin there rather than trying to select personnel or prescribe an arrangement.
Keep the brief general
The approximate duration, broad geography and type of engagement are useful starting points. Names of other people, exact itineraries, private addresses and internal security arrangements should not be included in a website form.
Confirm the next step
Ask how the company would like to continue the discussion. Confirm scope, availability and terms before relying on a service. Preparing a brief on this website does not send it or establish an engagement.
